ASBURY PARK, May 27, 2009 -- The owner of a popular spot in New York's Greenwich Village will open another location for his "fine Mexican saloon" in Asbury Park.

Jason Hennings will operate Diablo Royale in the Grand Arcade at Convention Hall on the boardwalk.

Diablo Royale is expected to open in July in the space formerly occupied by O'Toole's Irish Pub, which closed recently.

In an e-mail, Hennings said he would pay tribute to Asbury Park's rock 'n' roll heritage in the seaside version of his West Village spot.

"It was really important that we create a space that encompassed both those elements," Jennings said.
